Cedric the Donkey

A note from Liz: I soon as I saw these friends from "and the little dog laughed," I knew I needed to meet them. When they arrived they immediately brought so much joy into our space. I hope you'll find a friend for you or a loved one. Be sure to read the story that accompanies each one.

Cedric the Donkey is made from natural linen cotton fabric and wears sweet linen striped bloomers and an Australian merino wool knitted jumper. He is finished with soft corduroy details on his feet and nose, creating timeless charm. Measures 29cm.

Cedric loves folding paper boats and sailing them along the shore with his Grandpa, carefully watching as sail down the river. He doesn’t like tomatoes.

More about the artist: All the and the little dog laughed friends are designed in Australia by wonderful artist Kylie Platt who Liz was lucky enough to meet at a trade show. They formed an instant connection about stories and childhood hopes. When she was little, Kylie would sit in her Nana’s back room sewing clothes for her dolls, and learning to knit and crochet. She always loved that feeling of creating something from nothing. After seeing so many soft toys come and go in her own children’s lives—often poorly made and loved for a moment,  and quickly discarded—Kylie set out to create something different. The name comes from one of Kylie’s favorite nursery rhyme as a child “Hey Diddle Diddle” — a gentle reminder to laugh, dream, and hold onto the wonder of being little.
